Wow Tanya — thank you so much for sharing — this is so comforting and helpful to read. I had no idea this was common, and my mom surely has no clue — though I think it’s hard for her to forgive and chalk it up to mental illness when my father is so blatantly dismissive of her as his wife of 40+ years. I’ll be sure to share this with her and do a bit more of my own research. This was definitely the unwelcome turn of events I didn’t see coming…but such is life these days I suppose.
